Your six-month Google Cloud DevOps preparation pack
Prepared 21 October 2026 for a learner starting with no GCP experience. This is original study and practice material, not actual exam questions. Use it as your main organizer alongside official documentation and hands-on work.
Start here
- 24-week plan: sequence, weekly deliverables and checkpoints.
- Study guide: concepts, service choices, calculations and common mistakes across all five domains.
- Lab workbook: 12 practical exercises, beginning locally without a cloud account.
- Practice quiz: 180 learning questions (80 core + 100 added scenarios) and two separate 60-question, 120-minute mocks, with explanations and source links.
- Coverage map: questions mapped to the published objectives.
- Readiness checklist: when to consider using your voucher.
- Corrections: why the original AI-generated material was replaced.
- 2026 research notes: what the added 100 scenarios cover, source choices and how to practice them.
Open quiz.html directly in a browser. The quiz works offline; documentation links need internet. Attempts and unfinished sessions save in that browser when local storage is available. Export results as a backup. Keep both mocks unseen until weeks 22–23. Retaking a mock is revision, not a fresh measurement.
Your first seven days
- Day 1: Read the plan and foundations section. Confirm the exact voucher expiry and whether it limits booking, sitting the exam, or both.
- Day 2: Learn project, billing account, service, region and zone. Draw dev and production environments.
- Day 3: Practice terminal navigation and reading logs. Run lab 1's local service.
- Day 4: Make HTTP requests. Explain success, server error and latency.
- Day 5: Make a Git branch and reviewed change to a copy of the service.
- Day 6: Explain identity versus permission and why a service account differs from a downloaded key.
- Day 7: Write what you can explain without notes and what remains unclear. Do not take a mock yet.
The plan assumes 8–10 hours weekly: approximately 192–240 hours over 24 weeks. Six months from now is roughly April 2027; your actual voucher terms control the deadline. Calendar time alone does not establish readiness.
How to study
Spend about 20 minutes learning a concept, 40 practicing and 15 explaining it from memory. For each missed or guessed answer, record the requirement, your reasoning and why the alternatives fail. Revisit errors after 2, 7 and 21 days. Read the source when an explanation remains unclear.
Google currently lists two hours and 50–60 multiple-choice/multiple-select questions. Google provides pass/fail results rather than numerical scores for successful candidates. A 90% practice target is your study target, not a promise of an official 90+ score. Exam information, results FAQ.
Google recommends substantial industry and production GCP experience. You do not need to buy another certification first, but a beginner should complete foundations and labs before relying on professional-level practice scores. No question pack guarantees a pass or exhausts every possible scenario.
Use the readiness checklist, preserve first-attempt mock results and leave remediation time. Recheck the official guide and product documentation near booking because your exam may be in 2027. The old files remain in archive/original-2026-10-21/; they contain known errors and are excluded from this quiz.
